Vague language is frequently used in business communication.The uses can be divided into two types:non-deliberate use and deliberate use.The current thesis focuses on the deliberate use of vague language by the addresser to help him fulfill certain communicative intentions.From the detailed analysis we can arrive at a conclusion that vague language is a result of linguistic choice and linguistic adaptation;it is a communicative strategy employed by the addresser to realize his communicative intention.
