Raymond Williams,in his later study of the culture,noticed the intermediary function of Metropolis which revealed the movement of hegemony in imperialist society.From the metropolitan viewpoint,he refreshed the analysis of Modernism and made the Reappearance of Distance Culture in electro-medium times.His conclusion is the cultural control is different from ideology dominant.It is illuminating to the essence of the Capitalism.
