This paper attempts to explore the relationship between Critical Linguistics(CL) and Systemic Functional Linguistics(SFL).SFL provides theoretical basis and methodological foundation for CL.Some analytical tools, such as,transitivity,modality and nominalization in SFL,are adopted by CL to discover the relationship between language and ideology.
