翻译主体的“发现”与研究——兼评中国翻译家研究

Discovery" and Research of Translation Subject -A Critical Review of Translator Studies in China

20世纪70年代之后,西方翻译研究开始出现了重要转折,扩大了翻译研究的对象,拓展了翻译研究的范围。随着七八十年代描述翻译学的兴起,继而文化研究取向的盛行,翻译家在翻译过程中的主体性作用逐渐凸显。译入语中制约、影响翻译的诸因素都是通过翻译家来体现的,而翻译家的选择、翻译的方式、翻译策略,反过来又折射出特定时代的社会文化语境。要深入、细致地探讨翻译与译入语文化的关系,就绕不开对翻译家本身的探讨。可以说,翻译研究的转向,“发现”了翻译家,翻译家的主体性成为翻译研究的新课题。我国对翻译家比较有意识的系统研究,也是从80年代才开始。近20年来,我国在翻译家研究方面取得了令人鼓舞的成绩,但也还存在有待深耕远拓的领域。本文重点回顾了80年代之后我国的翻译家研究发展状况,评述其得失,并对今后翻译家研究的深入开展提出了一些思考和建议。
