Mother-to-child transmission is one of the three routes of HIV transmission and is also the primary route of HIV infection in children.Patterns of infant feeding play an important role in mother-to-child transmission of HIV,and also influence survival status of HIV-exposed infant. The article reviewed the latest progress in foreign researches on feeding for those infants born by HIV-infected mother, including HIV-infected mothers' choice willings of feeding patterns for their babies, different feeding patterns, baby survival status under different feeding patterns, relationship between breastfeeding and mother-to-child transmission rate of HIV and evaluation of safety of formula-feeding,so as to provide new information about infant feeding for HIV-infected mothers in local MCH hospitals.
