English Translation of Chinese Ancient Poems from the Perspective of Denotation Theory

在英译中国古典诗歌的过程中,由于语言文化的不同,中国古典诗歌的整体效果、语言张力、社会及文化蕴涵、文字等诸多义项难以传达出来,中文指称语的所指、意义、联想等方面被译成英文后存在不对等,而指称理论的指称范围为英译古诗提供了一个新的思维视角。

In the process of translating Chinese classical poems into English,for the differences of languages and cultures,Chinese classical poems' integral effect,language tension,social and cultural connotation,character and other items can not be expressed;Chinese denotation's referent,meaning and association can't find a match in the English version.The referent scope of denotation theory provides a new perspective to English translation of Chinese classical poems.
