从文化交流角度看归化与异化的选择

Foreignization or Domestication from the Perspective of Cultural Interaction

归化与异化一直是译界争论的焦点,作为翻译的两种策略它们各有自身的优势与缺陷。在过去的一个世纪里,老一辈翻译家考虑到读者的接受能力,大多采用归化策略;而如今文化交流日益频繁,译文读者对西方文化了解日益增加,因此笔者主张新时代的翻译应以异化为主,而在中文译西语时以归化为辅。

Foreignization or domestication has always been the focus of debate among translators.As a translation strategy,they have their own advantages and disadvantages.Over the past century,the senior translators used to apply domestication to adapt to readers.While in this new age,constant cultural interaction deepens readers' knowledge about the western world.So the translators today should apply foreignization more, and to supplement it with domestication when cases rise in Chinese to English translation.
