《永远有多远》中的女性主人公那"仁义"的性格受到了一些女性评论家的激烈批判,却受到一些男性评论家的热情颂扬。其实就文本呈现出的形象而言,作家的情感态度是既有批判更有眷恋。白大省那宽厚的美德并未完全过时,相反,在物欲横流的时代更能显出独特的价值,只是她那古典的美德亦需要进行现代性的人格重塑。

The character of the heroine,Na Renyi(meaning 'benevolence'),in the novel How Long Is Forever is severely criticized by some female critics,but is warmly praised by other male critics.In fact,as far as the image in the text is concerned,the author`s attitude implies both criticism and tenderness.Bai`s virtue of generosity has not completely gone out of style.On the contrary,it shows the especial value in the time of material above all.However,her classic virtue needs to be further remoulded into the modern character.
