英语专业学生毕业论文中And和But使用情况调查

摘要 连贯是篇章语义学与话语分析中的一个重要话题 ,实现篇章语义连贯的手段之一就是运用连接成分。通过对用于句首接续上句的两个连接副词And和But的对比分析 ,笔者发现 :(1)中国学生在英语论文写作中比英语母语作者更倾向于使用And和But,就这两个连接副词而言 ,中国学生明显倾向于使用前者 ;(2 )与母语作者相比 ,中国学生不但过多使用And和But,而且常有误用的情况。分析表明 。 Cohesion is an important issue of text linguistics and discourse analysis. One of the ways to make our writing semantic coherent and consistent is to use conjunctive elements. From the contrastive analysis of the two initial adverbial conjuncts And and But, we found: 1. Chinese students tend to use more initial And and But than the native writers, especially the former. 2. Compared with the natives, Chinese students not only overuse And and But, but also misuse them. The analysis shows that Chinese students lack a full understanding of style appropriateness and semantic properties of And and But.
