The Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense held a work meeting on management of shipbuilding industry in early April. Leaders of relevant national authorities and representatives from related parties attended the meeting, deliberating on the development of shipbuilding industry in China. Mr. Zhang Guangqin Vice Minister of the Commission made a speech on the meeting, specially emphasizing on the importance of the management of shipbuilding industry by focusing on policy study and policy making.Mr. Zheng Rongsheng Director of the Department of Civilian Products Development of the Commission summarizes the basic situation of the shipbuilding industry, analyzes the opportunities and challenges for the development of shipbuilding industry and sets up the target of marching into the Big Three in world shipbuilding.
