2002年是农历马年,这一年陕西汽车集团也像一匹骏马腾空飞跃:由于著名上市公司湘火炬的加盟和全体职工的努力,陕汽生产、效益同步高速增长,截至2001年12月底,共生产各类汽车1.6万多辆,同比增长82％;销售各类汽车1.56万辆,比上年同期增长73％;实现工业总产值28亿元,同比增长82.56％;实现销售收入突破26亿元,同比增长近80％;实现利润总额1.34亿元,实现利税总额突破2亿元,同比分别增长1倍和2倍。这一骄人的成绩,令陕西很难想象,陕汽原来也是曾一度严重亏损的三线企业:这一骄人的业绩。
