同源宾语构式的生存性及其修饰语的语义功能

On the Survivability of Cognate Object Constructions and the Semantic Functions of Cognate Objects' Premodifiers

从合作原则、数量象似性原则、表征经济原则、句法规约等视角考察宾语无修饰语的同源宾语构式在英语语言中的生存性,讨论同源宾语修饰语的多种语义功能,可得出结论:同源宾语构式在其宾语无修饰语时生存性极低,完全可以由简单、自然的"主语+谓语"构式替代;同源宾语构式中宾语的修饰语具有提供主语的认知信息、提示谓语的实施方式、提高宾语的语义价值、提调构式的语义重心等多种语义功能。同源宾语构式中的宾语修饰语是此构式在英语语言中赖以生存的关键。

This paper,from the perspectives of Cooperative Principle,Iconic Principle of Quantity,Economy of Representation and syntactic rules,investigates the survivability of Cognate Object Constructions(COCs) containing no objective premodifiers and puts forwards various semantic functions of the objective premodifiers in COCs.The conclusions can be drawn that the premodifier-free COCs survivability is so weak that they can be replaced with "Subject + Predicate" constructions,and that the keys for the survival of...
