埃米琳·潘克赫斯特是20世纪初英国著名的激进参政运动的代表人物,她的形象经历了从政府眼中的暴徒到如今大众心目中英雄的转变。本文通过公共记忆的建构方式及其背后推动力量的分析来考察其形象的变迁,探寻记忆和历史的关系。
Emmeline Pankhurst is a famous representative of the British militant suffragette movement in the early 20th century. Her image evolved from mob in the eye of the government into a popular cultural hero. This paper tries to inspect the construction and momentum of public memory,prompts us to think about the relationship of the public memory and history.
