The Golden Bough written by Frazer was developed by an old custom,which appeared in the lakeside of NeiMi.Fraser cited folk customs and legends that appeared in the world as his examples.He explained the relationships among the magic,early human cultural life and religions in the book. The old custom is very important and is the foundation of the work s whole system.But it has a deadly mistake in the replace of the pontifex,thus makes the conclusions made by Fraser to be not convincing.
