Let Datong Keep the Root

他不精通任何手艺活儿,却被一群手艺人心悦诚服地推举为领头人;他名义上是个『官儿』,却一直在自掏腰包,做着没有什么经济效益的文化事业。他同那一帮大同的艺人一样,深深地热爱这片土地,热爱这份文化。他忧心忡忡,惟恐艺人流失,他殚精竭虑,一心想把大同的根留住。他叫李东健,是大同市工艺美术协会的秘书长。

Li Dongjian is the secretary-general of Datong Arts and Crafts Association. He is not skilled in any handicraft.In spite of that,he is chosen as the leading person by a group of craftsmen with a heartfelt admiration.In name, he is an “official”,but in fact he devotes his own money to the non-profit cultural career. Like those craftsmen in Datong,he loves the land and the culture deeply.What he worries about is the brain drain. Therefore,he racks his brain to keep the root of Datong
