Contribution and Achievements of the Research on the History and Geography Science of the Northwest Border in the Qing Dynasty

本文主要论述清代西北边疆史地学的成就,认为清代西北边疆史地学的成就主要体现在对西北边疆民族史的初步探讨;对西北边疆历史地理的全面清理;提出了设新疆省以固边防的切实措施和打破了以往史地学局限于中国的狭隘观念四个方面。

The paper mainly expounds the achievements of the history and geography science!of the Northwest border in the Qing Dynasty.The author thinks that the achievements mainly reflects from four aspects: the first probe into the national history of the Northwest border,the overall dear of the history and geography of the Northwest border,putting forward practical measure of setting up Xinjiang Province in order to consolidate the border defence and breaking the former narrow idea of the history and geography which confined to China.
