The Western great countries--America, Britain and Japan showed different attitudes toward the Chinese National Government's reform in the monetary system in 1935, their own interests being different, American government experienced the change from the passive attitude 'uninterruptibility' to the 'disguised' supporting attitude; the British government showed an attitude of getting actively involved and giving great support; the Japanese government was full of resistance and destroying actions. They not only showed that the contradictions between America, Britain, and Japan to China had surfaced and intensified, but also reflected the Chinese National Government's desire for bringing the Chinese economy toward the process of modernization by drawing support from the Western forces, and strengthening the National Government's control of the whole country.
