Many factors influence language teaching and learning, among them, motivation factors directly affects English study of the college students whose major is not English. This paper analyzes the major types of motivation which affect college student in foreign language learning, analyzes the factors which have exerted influences on the initiation of motivation, and gives several suggestions on how to stimulate the correct motivations to improve English study.
