Contrastive Study of Structural Means of English and Chinese Euphemism

英汉委婉语有许多共同的委婉语构造手段;同时,由于英汉语言文化的巨大差异,也各自有着独特的委婉表现手段。本文从词汇、语音、语法的角度探讨英汉委婉语构造手段的异同,揭示不同文化背景下英汉委婉语构造手段的特点。

There are many structural means similar in English and Chinese euphemism.But due to great cultural differences between English and Chinese the two languages have their own expressive ways.This paper,from the perspective of vocabulary,pronunciation and grammar,discusses the similarities and differences in structural ways in English and Chinese euphemism and reveals the features of structural methods of euphemism in different cultural backguounds.
