Discourse Coherence and Chinese Translation of Cohesive Words

词汇衔接是实现语篇连贯的重要手段。本文通过对各种词汇衔接手段在具体语篇中汉译的实例分析,指出在英译汉的过程中译者该如何恰当处理衔接词汇汉译的问题,由此表明好的衔接词汇的汉译不但可以实现译文语篇的连贯,而且还可再现原作的丰姿。

Lexical cohesion plays an important part in the realization of discourse coherence.Based on the analysis of the Chinese translation of cohesive words in specific discourse,the paper offers some means of properly handling Chinese translation of these words and shows that their good translation can not only realize the discourse coherence of the translated version but also represent the style of the original version.
