On Women's Status Reflected in English Idioms

从女性主义视角入手,通过分析描述女性与社会、女性与自然关系的习语,展现了女性在传统社会中无能、弱者、被动、受压迫、受欺凌的形象,附属与“他者“的社会地位。对重新审视女性,张扬女性个性,重建女性形象具有重要意义。

From the feminist perspective,the traditional women's inferior subordinate social status is depicted through analyzing those idioms about the relationship between women,society,and the nature.In these idioms,the images of women are portrayed as incapacity,weak,passiveness,underdog and receiving insult in traditional society,and the social status of women as surbordination and 'others'.It is of significant meaning for reexamining women,enhancing women' characterastics and rebuilding women' images.
