学为圣贤是孟子提出的德育目标。孟子的性善论为其学为圣贤的德育目标奠定了理论基础。作为一种理想主义的人性论,它有助于激发人的尊严感和责任感。作为一个伟大的教育家,孟子提出并阐述了一整套自己的道德修养理论:突出对学习者的理想志向和价值教育;注重道德实践者的主体作用,强调自我教育;强调道德教育者的榜样力量和示范作用。这些孟子德育思想的精华,具有很强的现实意义。
To become a man of sage and virtue is the target of moral education in Mencius.Mencius's Goodness Theory of Human Nature sets up a theoretical foundation.As an ideal doctrine of human nature,it contributes to arousing people's sense of dignity and responsibility.As a great educationist,Mencius puts forward and sets forth his own theory on morality training: stressing the education of idealism and lofty aspirations,laying stress on the positive role of the subject,emphasizing self-education and the power of fine example of moral instructor.The cream of Mencius's idea on moral education has a generally practical significance today.
