Liang Qichao and the Lecturing & Learning Society

离开官场后,梁启超有感于思想文化界的混乱和肤浅而赴欧考察。1920年初归来后,梁启超带着灵感和激情领导创办了讲学社,邀请外国著名学者来华讲学,杜威、罗素、杜里舒和泰戈尔先后来华,史称四大名哲,轰动一时,对中外思想文化交流和五四新文化运动产生了巨大影响。梁启超作为讲学社的实际负责人,为讲学社的酝酿、成立、运作、邀请等重要事项发挥了关键作用。

During the May Fourth New Culture Movement,the transparant intelligenty of China had become a statrum.As a well-known man,Liang Qichao in 1920 set up a folk tour——the Lecturing & Learning Society,which is special to invite and hospitality the famous ideologists of foreign countries.It is for introducing the active foreigen knowledge.For it,John Dewey,Bertrand Russell,Hans Driesch and Taiger came China to teach their ideas.They are named the Four Famous Ideologists.Though the Lecturing & Learning Society perioded with many causes,it had a great influence upon the Chinese intelligentsia.
