On the Function Change of Xianghu Lake during 9 Centuries

湘湖历经9个世纪,在不同时期分别发挥着不同的功能。前4个多世纪的主要功能是蓄水、灌溉;后四个多世纪发挥了灌溉、垦殖和砖瓦制作三种并存的功能;目前则向着旅游功能方向发展。

During 9 centuries,Xianghu Lake played different roles in different historical periods.In the former 4 centuries,its main function was to store waters and irrigate;the later 4 centuries to irrigate,cultivate and make bricks and tiles.At present,it tends to develop towards the function of tourism.
