改革开放以后,中国城市史研究异军突起相当繁盛。1986年至2006年的中国城市史研究,在城市起源、特征与分类研究,秦汉至宋元城市研究,明清城市及江南市镇研究,单体城市、类型城市与区域城市研究,"冲击——反应模式"与口岸城市研究,城市比较、通论性研究、中外学术互动等六个方面取得了重要成果。

Since China s reform and opening up to the outside world,researches into Chinese urban history began to rise and flourish.From 1986 to 2006,great achievements have been made in these researches from 6 aspects,such as the origin,features and classification,urban historical researches from Qin and Han dynasties to Song and Yuan dynasties,type cities and regional cities,etc.
