About the Influence of Imperial Examination on the Marital Conception of People Living in Tang Dynasty

科举制的推行和发展,对唐代社会的各个方面均产生了深远影响,致使唐人的婚姻观念也随之产生了一系列变化。具体表现为:由重门第向重功名的方向转变;重文轻武,重才轻财的观念深入人心;科举制所体现出的平等意识及其所带来的社会成员身份的不确定性,还使唐人婚姻观具有开放性的特征。

With its practice and development, the imperial examination had affected aspects of the whole society of Tang Dynasty, including the marital conception at that time. It brought about such a series of changes as from family status to scholarly honour, martial arts to polite letters, learning and ability to wealth. It also brought about equality and uncertain status of social members that made their marital conception had the characteristics of opening--up.
