On the Merits and Mistakes of Empress Li in History

人们在肯定吕后治国策略的同时,更多地谴责她诛杀大臣、戚夫人、刘姓王,是一个心狠手辣的女人;谴责她把持朝政、结党营私、利欲熏心,是一个权势重心的女人。但从历史的角度看,吕后在维护皇室、稳定朝政、安定社会等方面起着重要的作用,对其历史功过当作正确评价。

People approved of Empress Li’s policy of managing the country, meanwhile they condemned that she killed her ministers, Madam Qi, princes Liu as a violent woman, and also condemned that she had absolute authority in the kingdom, and formed a clique to pursue selfish interests, and was blinded by her greed as a power-wanted woman. But in historic opinion, Empress Li played a important role in protecting the kingdom, stabilizing the government and securing the society, ect. So her merits and mistakes should be correctly evaluated.
