英语成语是英语语言文化的重要组成部分。准确地将英语成语译为汉语对于跨文化交际有着积极的意义。本文揭示了英语成语所承载的文化内涵,分析了英语成语汉译中存在的难点,并根据Nida意义优先的原则,探讨了英语成语的翻译方法。

English idiom is an important component part of English language and English culture. A proper translation of English idiom is necessary for an effective intercultural communication. This paper reveals the cultural traits contained in English idioms, and presents an analysis of the difficulties in the translation of English idioms into Chinese. Based on Nida's principle of meaning priority, the paper also examined the methods applied to the translation of English idioms.
