The Relations Between ASEAN and China During the Latter Half of the 20th Century

在20世纪后半期的亚太国际关系史上，东盟国家与中国的关系是疑惧与尊崇相存、敌对与合作并立、利用与友谊同在。随着全球和亚太地区国际关系的变化，东盟国家与中国关系的发展经历了三个阶段。由于东南亚地区是多元文化、多元种族的地区，各国情况差别较大，同时，东南亚地区在二战后出现的错综复杂的国际关系，故在同中国关系上，东南亚国家可分为三种类型。

As far as the international relations of the countries in Asia and around the Pacific are concerned during the latter half of the 20th century, the relations between ASEAN and China are those of the coexistence of doubt and respect, hostility and eonperation, and utilization and friendship. With the changes of international relationship around the globe and in the Asia - Pacific region, their development has undergone three phases. Because South- east Asian Nations are in an area with multi - cultures and many different races, each has their own characteristics. And there appeared complicated intemational relationship after the Second World War in the region. So South- east Asian Nations can be classified into three categories when dealing with China.
