The Translation of the Sayings in Hong Lou Meng in the Light of the Skopos Theory

根据目的论，译者可以为了达到目的而采用任何他认为适当的翻译策略。在《红楼梦》的两个优秀的全译本(杨宪益的译本和霍克斯的译本)中，不同的译者根据不同的翻译目的要求，采取了不同的翻译策略。

According to the Skopes Theory, the prime principle determining any translation process is the skopes (purpose) of the overall translational action. In the two English versions(translated by Yang Xianyi and David Hawkes respectively), different translators use different strategies in translating the sayings of Hong Lou Meng to achieve the skopes of translation.
