Iconicity-Dialectics View Is Superior to Arbitrariness-Fundamental View

认知语言学的哲学基础是体验哲学,认为语言是人们在对现实世界体验的基础上通过认知加工而形成的,是主客观互动的结果,在现实与语言之间存在"认知"这一中介.因此,在语言形式与所指(世界特征、经验结构、思维规律、概念框架、语义系统)之间存在很多可论证的象似性关系.本文拟进一步论述象似性和任意性之间的差异,并认为象似性辩证说优于任意性支配说.

The theoretical basis of Cognitive Linguistics is embodied philosophy, which holds that language is formed on the basis of bodily experience of the reality and by means of cognitive process, and language is the result of the interaction between subjects and objects. So the basic idea of cognitive linguistics is that there is a medium between reality and language, namely, “reality cognition language”. Therefore, there is a lot of iconicity between the linguistic form and the signified (world features, experiential structure, rules of thought, conceptual frames, semantic system). This paper intends to further expound the difference between iconicity and arbitrariness, holding that iconicity dialectics view is superior to arbitrariness fundamental view.
