This article attempts to present the cultural motivation of V.S.Naipaul's writing, and analyzes the spiritual tendency in his works at different periods. The article points out that the original purpose of Naipaul's writing is to seek a spiritual homeland, but his works have developed a tendency towards cultural diversity and Cosmopolitanism. Besides, the article also predicts the future development of Naipaul's writing.
