The problem of ' the evil' has puzzled and attracted many artists generation after generation. They have taken great pains to discover the infinite charm of the evil in the reality through their works of art. Wallace Stevens, one of the greatest American modernist poets, creates a large number of poems through his rich and colorful imagination, revealing the great pain and evil in the reality. This thesis probes into the subject of the evil presented in the poetry of Stevens from the angle of aesthetics, in an attempt to expound the infinite charm of the aesthetics implied in the poetry and to reveal its value and limitations.
