Influence of Christian Mission School of Middle Ages on Modern Universities

历经一千多年的中世纪被认为是神学对科学压制最严酷的时期,但正是被认为"黑暗"的中世纪产生的教会学校,对近代大学有着深刻的影响。它建立了近代大学采用固定场所和固定人员教授的基本模式、近代大学基本课程科目的框架、近代大学基本的教学方法、开创了注重理性的思维方式。

The Middle Ages is regarded as the hardest period when theology cruelly pressed science and technology, but it was just the Christian mission schools established in the Dark Middle Ages that had a deep effect on modern universities. Adopting a historical approach, the paper presents the basic pattern of Christian mission schools, which were established for interpreting theology system in subjectivity. However, the schools formed the foundation of modern universities in teaching pattern, faculty, subjects, methods, and ways of thinking in objectivity. Indeed the mission schools did produce a deep effect on modern universities and promoted their establishment and development.
