Why Paul Cezanne is Important

Paul Cezanne was named as father of westem modern art. He was a key man in the time when westem art turned to modern form from classical. Lectures about him in our course of the western art history are both important and tough. In this thesis, the author, by studying the forming course of Cezanne's ideal and style against the background at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, construes his place in the western art history . The author does this in a concise and clear way and hopes that teachers who lecture on the western art history can interpret the lectures for students in a pellucid way thanks to the thesis.
