The delegating mechanisms (agent, proxy, broker) within distributed computing are discriminated and resolved conceptually. The delegating concepts appearing in numerous literatures are categorized into self-determinate (agent), penetrate (proxy) and intermediary (broker). The differences and relationship among them are discussed and described with some examples.
