In the paper, the principle of measurement for the diameter of special rod using CCD imaging sensors is introduced, and the method of image processing and the structure of measurement system are also discussed. The system can not only attribute to improve automation degree of production for special rod but also become the basis on which you can further study the relation between change of diameter of special rod and tool wear.
