Printing is the most basic and important processing technology, which makes the characters or figures into a large number of replicas through printing plate. This thesis probes into the different technology forms of printing plates from the four developing stages-plate carving printing, movable type printing, machinery printing, numerical code printing. Printing tools and methods of each era define the performance result and historical frame of the designing way for the designer. Printing is close related to the past, the present and the future of the design.
