摘要
本文从社会语言学角度调查了我国小学英语教材中的语言性别歧视现象。本文首先综述语言性别歧视理论和国内外的相关研究。然后调查三套小学英语教材,从男女角色比例、男女的职业角色、男女在家庭中的角色和描述男女的形容词四方面进行定量统计和分析。得出如下结论:我国小学英语教材仍存在语言性别歧视现象,男女在家庭和职业角色方面还存在较严重的失衡。本文可望对我国新世纪小学英语教材的引进和编写提供借鉴。
This paper examines linguistic sexism in current English textbooks of China primary schools from a sociolinguistic perspective. Following a review of theories on linguistic sexism and researches on sexism in ESL and EFL textbooks, a recent quantitative analysis of 3 currently widely used English textbooks is described.
