摘要 本文以美国前卫女作家斯泰因的散文《毕加索》为例 ,探讨了她是如何把绘画的美学原则和创作技巧引入文学创作 ,通过使用“绵延的现在”和“重复”等手段 ,用文学语言为现代派画家的代表人物毕加索描绘了一幅立体的画面 ,以崭新的文学形式打破了以突出情节为创作要旨的文学传统 ,把语言作为关注的焦点 。 Gertrude Stein was a daring literary inventor. While living in Paris from the first decade of the twentieth century up to her death in 1956, Stein had been much influenced by such highly unconventional style of visual arts as Cubism, which took apart and reshaped an object so that several sides were seen simultaneously. Soon Stein adopted this modern artistic mode, which she adapted and became adept in her own literary practice, thus making her writing a hinge round which the two different types of artspainting and writing were combined and contaminated. The chief purpose of her literary experiment was to disrupt the traditional notion of plot, action and logic, so as to abandon the traditionally accepted framework of literature and to develop new models based on the experience of the twentieth century.
