A Comparison of the Love Stories in Sanyan and Decameron

产生于东西方不同文化背景下的《三言》和《十日谈》中的爱情故事 ,有着共同的反对禁欲主义 ,提倡人性解放 ;歌颂爱情 ,赞扬妇女 ;反对门第等级 ,主张婚姻平等的特征 ,体现出反封建、反宗教 ,提倡自由、平等、民主的资产阶级人本主义精神。但在对待男女偷情问题上 ,表现出不同的态度 ,体现出中西文化的差异。

Although the Chinese Sanyan and the Italian Decameron were written at different times and against different cultural backgrounds, yet they manifest similar characteristics, such as rebellion against asceticism, advocacy of human liberation, praise of love and women, repudiation of hierarchal prejudices and pursuit of equality in marriage. As such, they both represent the bourgeois humanistic spirit for freedom and equality against feudalism and religion. But as far as illegal love is concerned, they take a different attitude, thus revealing their cultural differences.
