在回顾洋务运动的研究时 ,我们会惊奇地发现一个事实 :人们往往将目光过多地投给那些积极引进西方先进技术和思想的人 ,可是对于那些所谓的保守派 ,也就是通常所说的顽固派 ,却研究的很少。如果我们通过洋务运动初期保守派的典型代表———倭仁的研究 ,来全面认识这个封建社会末期的典型的士大夫 ,同时揭示倭仁对当时社会的影响和作用 。
