摘要
元人李寿卿《月明和尚度柳翠》与明人徐渭《玉禅师翠乡一梦》均搬演月明和尚“点化”妓女柳翠成佛的故事 ,但两剧的剧情、人物、命意却完全不同。两者之间既无同源 ,也无先后承继关系。李寿卿的《度柳翠》是佛教观念的演绎 ,是一则风格严肃的“度脱”剧 ;徐渭的《玉禅师》则取材于民间传说 ,是中国民间对佛教观念的解读 ,是一则戏谑滑稽的谐剧。文章以“细读”的方式 ,对两剧的剧情、人物、命意加以比较分析 ,并参以史实辨证 。
Monk Moon saves Liu Cui by Li Shouqing, a Yuan dramatist, and Monk Jade’s dream in Green Land by Xu Wei, a Ming dramatist, are dramatic performance of Liu Cui, a prostitute who is converted to Buddhism by Monk Moon. However, they are different from each other in plot, characters and theme. There is no same origin for them and the latter doesn’t come from the former. Li’s drama, with solemn style, deduces Buddhist belief, and Xu’s drama, with comic style, expresses Chinese folk attitude towards Buddhism. ...
