This paper analyses the characteristics of bringing forth new ideas of the May Fourth movement Times. The first section traces the internal and international situations at that time. The second and the third examine the new ideological and actual achievements of the advanced elements in the era. The final section discusses the great influences of the era on the later ages and the enlightenments we can draw from it now.
