Some Issues on the “连” Sentences

本文分三个部分 ,第一部分讨论“连”字的虚化和“连”字句的语法化 ,第二部分讨论典型“连”字句中“连”字的性质和功能 ,第三部分讨论典型“连”字句的语用意义。主要结论是 ,( 1 )“连”字是介词 ,赵元任等前辈学者的定性是正确的。 ( 2 )它的功能是引介一种与句子隐含的参项同角色的体词性成分 ,该体词性成分表示“典型事例”。 ( 3)“连”字句通过对“典型事例”的强调来表达对相关事物的周遍性强调 ,因此“连”字句的语用意义是强调“周遍性”指称意义。

There are three parts in this thesis. The first part discusses the bleaching process of “连” and the grammaticalisation of the “连”sentences. The second part discusses the nature and function of “连”. The third part discusses the pragmatic meaning of the “连”sentences. The conclusion is that “连” is a preposition. Its function is to introduce a syntactic component which expresses a “typical case” of some thing, and the sentence emphasizes all round of some thing by emphasizing the “typical case”.
