英汉颜色词的文化内涵及其翻译

本文探讨了有关颜色词在中英文化中的不同内涵 ,对比分析它们的结构特点、词义演变、语法功能和修辞作用等 ,认为颜色词虽数量有限 ,但在很大程度上反映了不同民族、不同时代人们的文化心理、审美情趣和时代风尚。同时 ,对照分析了相当数量的颜色词的翻译实例 ,总结了译法 。

Focusing on the different cultural connotations of Chinese and English colour words,this paper presents a comparative analysis of their structural characteristics,semantic evolution,grammatical functions and rhetorical aesthetics,etc,arguing that colour words,though very small in number,reflect to a great extent the cultural,moral and aesthetic values of different races and people of different times.Meanwhile,through a careful examination of quite a few translation examples of colour words,it sums up methods of translation and underscores the great importance of a clear understanding of culture_loaded words in translation practice.
