In order to assure the security of WAN system, the paper explains the corresponding security request and security threat, and introduces the principle , technique attributes and configuration method of PGP. By means of analyzing the security attributes of PGP, there is the conclusion that based on security of PGP in nature, security hole can be avoided successfully as long as abiding by appropriate application method, thus the security of WAN system can be insured.
