Mechanical ventilation (MV) is an effective way to treat chronic obstractive lung disease complicating with serious respiratory failure. It's importent to control strictly the indication of MV, to select the methods of artificial airway correctly, make airway and psychologic nursing well during the intubation period to improve the patient's quality of living.
