By means of computer animation and date files, TJTS(Tongji Traffic Simulation) can describes traffic state in an intuitional, detailed and dynamic way, and therefore provides an efficient tool for the evaluation of traffic control & management design, road geometry design and etc. In the paper, an common case of using the simulation tool to present road network traffic state descriptions is introduced first, including the methods of road network coding, traffic demand description, output of computer animation and various criterions. Finally, a practical case of demonstrating the application in the process of bus only lane design is also given.
