Cooling Rates of PREP Ti48Al Alloy

摘要 Determining the cooling rate of a rapidly-solidified (RS) technique subjectively is a prerequisite of knowing the RS technique, and it is difficult. Model of heat transfer is constructed in this paper in order to calculate cooling rates of rapidly-solidified Ti48AI alloy. Rapid solidification technique utilized is the plasma rotating electrode process (PREP hereafter). The results show that: the cooling rate of PREP is at the scope of 102-103 K/s.
